Part of the fun of life is temporarily adopting personas, including ones that you wouldn’t want to live through in real life.
A gladiator is one such persona. I definitely wouldn’t want to be an actual gladiator. Life, in general, is not a battle. But some moments of life are battle-like, and at such moments, if I’m going to be a gladiator anyway, I would like to be a victorious one.
And so here are some battle songs. We rise. We do not fall. The old ones walk with us. And we do it scared, because glory is ours.
