🥚 Eggs 🥚
Warm and still. Beginning and end. Food source and resurrection. Soft drones, cracking and hatching tones. Groovy.
Released July 1, 2026

“The bird fights its way out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who would be born must first destroy a world. The bird flies to God. That God’s name is Abraxas.”
― Hermann Hesse, “Demian”

Serious quotes about eggs aside, the “Eggs” series has a sense of humor. “Taxonomy of Earth” is neither a literature nor a science project. It’s just sounds, visuals, and words.
As such, some slightly grotesque details on the cover were left as they are. We’re not going for realistic accuracy here. I mean, the main subject of the cover is an egg wearing sunglasses… 🙃
…which doesn’t mean that eggs aren’t IMPORTANT. Life on earth would be nothing without eggs.
So… let us take a moment to appreciate eggs!
Cheers,
Echo

(1) Slow morning, scrambled
yolk breaks into light
still half-asleep, the fork turns;
something being born
(2) Nest
each twig remembers
the wind it was plucked by, yet,
warms the thing inside
(3) Candling
held up to the flame
a vein of dark maps itself;
life learning its shape
(4) Sunny side up
the pan holds the sun
still, trembling, not yet broken;
hot oil breathing slow
(5) Incubation
warmth has its own math
beneath the thin shell, a clock
ticks without numbers
(6) Stolen
she came back to find
the hollow where warmth had been;
wind in the feathers
(7) Poaching you
into the water
you hold your shape, barely, then
surrender to silk
(8) Mitosis
one becomes the two
that becomes the ten thousand;
and still just itself
(9) Shell
what holds the world in
is also what keeps it out;
thin as a secret
(10) How deviled
the yolk was pulled out
seasoned with what was hidden;
served back to the world
(11) Decorated
wax and dye on shell
the outside learns to be seen;
inside stays the same
(12) The world
everything cracked once
and let the light in at last;
we call this morning
